After all my experiences with HP Palmtops, SHARP Zaurus PDAs and all the other devices I have evaluated and used, I am constantly searching for good HP Palmtop successors. My journey also took me to the now so famous ASUS EeePC netbooks. I have tried the models 701, 900 and 901. I have not tried the later models 1000H etc., because they are even larger than the 701 and 90x. For my taste, a "small computer" must not be larger than the EeePC 901. In the EeePC 901 I have found - for that time, which was about the year 2008 - the perfect balance between size, functionality and performance. The future will bring devices with a much better power to size ratio. The EeePC 901 has great battery life (abt. 5 hours), is relatively small with its 9 inch screen, has WiFi, Bluetooth, a very good screen and fast Intel ATOM processor. For my taste, the 901 is the absolute "peak" in the EeePC series quality curve. Choose from the menu on the left from topics of interest for you regarding the ASUS EeePC netbooks. |
